About Us

Welcome to our school community!

Our school proudly serves over 400 students from diverse backgrounds in grades ETK through 5th grade. Located on the corner of 28th Street and San Pedro Avenue in South Los Angeles, we are part of the Jefferson/South Central Community of Schools.

Our teachers are highly trained professionals who represent a wide variety of cultural backgrounds, reflecting the rich diversity of our school community. I could not be prouder of the students, staff, and families who make our school such a special place.

At 28th Street, we are dedicated to providing a well-rounded educational experience for every child. We proudly offer a Dual Language Program that supports students in becoming bilingual and biliterate while strengthening their academic achievement. Students also have opportunities to participate in enriching after-school activities, including the arts, STEAM learning experiences, and tutoring programs that help extend their learning beyond the school day.
To further support our working families, 28th Street offers the Ready, Set, Go morning child care program, as well as after-school programs through LA’s BEST and the YS Program, providing students with safe, engaging, and supportive environments before and after school.

Equally important to us is creating an environment where all students and families feel welcomed, valued, and respected. We look forward to partnering with our families to support the success and well-being of every child.
