About Us
Home of the Falcons! 28th Street Elementary School serves over 600 students from a diverse backgrounds in grades ETK to 5th grade. We are located in the corner of 28th Street and San Pedro Avenue, in South Los Angeles, and is part of the Jefferson/South Central Community of Schools. Our teachers are highly trained professionals who come from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds, as does the rest of our school community. I cannot be prouder of the students, staff, and families of our community. Not only is 28th Street dedicated to providing a well-rounded educational experience of all children, but also we are equally dedicated to creating an environment where all fee welcomed and valued.
We have several events throughout the year that encourage family connection with the school. PiAT (Parent in Action Team) host events, such as Books on Parade, Winter Programs, Beautification Days, as well as the Spring Festival, and fundraising for special field trips. Our PiAT supports special activities to bring families, students, and staff together. 28th Street is a family and we welcome new additions throughout the year. In addition to holding high academic expectations and support for students, 28th Street Elementary strives to acquire the 21st Century skills of of critical thinking, communication, collaboration and creativity through a concerned effort among students, parents, educators, and staff.
